  31.     <l>Of the Cat in the Hat</l>
  32.     <l>and recalcitrant Sam,</l>
  33.     <l>who refused any meal</l>
  34.     <l>made of Green Eggs and Ham.</l>
  35.  
  36.     <l>And of Horton and Sneetch</l>
  37.     <l>and of Yertle and Who</l>
  38.     <l>and of Thidwick the Moose</l>
  39.     <l>and If I Ran the Zoo.</l>

  41.     <l>Every Seusspenseful tale,</l>
  42.     <l>every verse that he did,</l>
  43.     <l>seemed to land on the bed</l>
  44.     <l>or the lap of a kid.</l>
  45.  
  46.     <l>But the doctor of late</l>
  47.     <l>has achieved his results</l>
  48.     <l>by prescribing for those</l>
  49.     <l>who are labeled adults.</l>
  50.  
  51.     <l>In The Lorax he chose</l>
  52.     <l>as his overall theme</l>
  53.     <l>the consumption that eats</l>
  54.     <l>at the forest and stream.</l>
  55.  
  56.     <l>And the big Butter Battle</l>
  57.     <l>Book spoke with a roar</l>
  58.     <l>of the lunatic fringes</l>
  59.     <l>who trigger a war.</l>
  60.  
  61.     <l>And You're Only Old Once!</l>
  62.     <l>pulled the ultimate hat trick:</l>
  63.     <l>making readers think twice</l>
  64.     <l>about things geriatric.</l>
  65.  
  66.     <l>But the latest of Seuss</l>
  67.     <l>fits in no category.</l>
  68.     <l>Oh, the Places You'll Go!</l>
  69.     <l>is an all-ages story</l>
  70.  
  71.     <l>Of the creature who wins</l>
  72.     <l>after being a victim</l>
  73.     <l>when it learns how to live</l>
  74.     <l>by observing this dictum:</l>
  75.  
  76.     <l>Just "be sure when you step.</l>
  77.     <l>Step with care and great tact</l>
  78.     <l>and remember that Life's</l>
  79.     <l>a Great Balancing Act."</l>
  80.  
  81.     <l>And recalling the thing</l>
  82.     <l>left unsaid by the sage:</l>
  83.     <l>that surprises may come</l>
  84.     <l>on the very last page.</l>
  85.  
  86.     <l>Case in point, Seuss himself,</l>
  87.     <l>who is now eighty-six.</l>
  88.     <l>Moral: Who says you can't</l>
  89.     <l>teach an old Doc new tricks?</l>
